India Gate, Delhi

Situated in New Delhi on the Rajpath (King’s Way), India Gate is a gathering point for residents of Delhi, especially on summer nights. The large green lawns provide a relaxing green space for the city. Children (and adults) swim and ride paddle boats in the monument’s fountains. Vendors sell a wide variety of snacks and whatnots. As a memorial it is one of Delhi’s most significant spots. But it is also a great place to go just to relax…

There are a number of activities available at India gate. Most are basic relaxation sorts of things (like sitting on the grass and doing nothing on a cool night), but there are usually a few entertainment vendors around. You can take a camel ride or have a go on the Ferris wheel. The lighting after dark attracts fountain watchers who want to just watch the fountains lights change colors. There is a small boat park and a children’s area.
